You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.

Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
- say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
- explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
- suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Hello Mark,

First of all, my hearty congratulations for the humungous achievement of completing the degree and making us all feel proud of you.

In response, to your suggestion on whether to take up studies or job again, I prefer that you settle up with a job. After struggling for a tremendous period of time in earning your master's degree I feel that again doing research would be so boring for you and also again you have to live away from your family, which I feel would be tough for you and your family.

Pursuing a doctorate is too expensive for you to afford after having a family that relies only on your income. Additionally, you can have savings that would help you to achieve your long term goal of buying a luxurious apartment in the center of the city.

With a Master's in Software Engineering I recommend that you can move into the field of Information Technology for the role of a software engineer. Perhaps, if you are still interested in teaching as you were in childhood, you can try out careers in that field as well.

Having said the above points, I consider that you will give a thought before deciding. Convey my regards to your family.

Your friend
Alen
