You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
give details of what went wrong
explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
say what action you would like the manager to take
Dear Mr Anderson,
I am writing to complain about the cooling system of your hotel. I stayed at your hotel in suite 204 last week due to work purpose.
During the week, the temperature outside went up to 40 degree Celsius as mentioned in the news. The heat inside the room was unbearably higher than outside as the air conditioner emitted hot air. Furthermore, there was no air cooler to vent out the heat.
Consequently, one of the staff had a backup stand fan which we used during the nights. we looked for other hotels but we could not find any at such short notice as it was Christmas next week.
Needless to say, it was unexpected that the hotel would not have a backup air cooler in case of emergency situations. I would like to request you to monitor and maintain the electronic devices every month and repair the faulty once at the earliest possible.
I look forward to hearing the measures you have taken.
Yours sincerely
XYZ
