You successfully passed a job interview. You are expected to start on November 15, but you will not be available on that date. Task: Write a letter to your new boss, explaining your situation, expressing your concern and suggesting a solution.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter concerning my joining date in your organisation. I was expected to start on 15th November, but I am afraid I will not be able to start before 1st of December.
As I was admitted in hospital for a week, due to stomach infection and furthermore, took one week to recover from the weakness ; as a result of which my tasks at current job got delayed. Therefore, it is highly impossible for me to join your firm on the agreed date.
I am aware about the fact that you have taken up two new projects, considering I would be working on them. If you grant me the permission to work on weekends in your office premises, I am willing to start working from the coming weekend.
In case, it is not possible, please appoint an existing employee to take on the projects and I can takeover from him/her when I join on 1st of December.
Hope you understand my situation.
