Essay topics:

You work at home and have a problem with a piece of equipment that you use for your job.

Write a letter to the shop or company which supplied the equipment.

In your letter

-describe the problem with the equipment

-explain how this problem is affecting your work

-say what you want the shop or company to do

I have currently been a freelancer working from home and all my works rely heavily upon the Internet. As a fast and stable internet connection is vital to my performance, I have purchased the latest internet router at Office Works on Cumberland Highway, Liverpool three days ago. It is a Logitect series five which is said to be the fastest plug and play device among its product line.

I did exactly according to the instructions from one of your staff but things turned out that I still have no internet connection as the wifi indicator light keeps pulsing in red instead of white. I also contacted my internet provider and they said neither the cable nor signal transmission has got any problem. As a result, my works have been stacked up and I don't think I am able to get them done before the deadline, this Sunday, 30th December, if there is no proper actions taken.

As it clearly appears to be a technical problem caused by a faulty product, and of course it is still under warranty, I would very much like a free and prompt exchange today as I desperately need to finish my projects in time. Please send a technician as soon as you can. I am looking forward to getting your support.

Best wishes.
