Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter:
Give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
Explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community
Describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing regarding to the news that I have heard about closing our local centre which provides to us sport and leisure activities.
I extremely interested in this place, because twice a week usually we with my family and friends attend it for sport games in the evenings after work. Altogether we play football or do other sport activities to keep fit ourselves. At the same time our children attend a special child room.
As you can understand this centre is essential place for family to build good relationship and keep fit healthy body. Our community will be enormously disappointed if this centre will be closed so it is only place in local community. Another similar one is far from our district. Moreover, it is located in the centre of community, so a lot of family can attend it very easily.
I really cannot imagine what people will do if you finally decide to close our centre. Probably people will spend time more in front of TV and pay less attention family members. Which is really destructive influences on relationships.
I hope you will address these concerns as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Olga
