More and more people are seriously overweight. Some people suggest the solution to this problem is to increase the price of fattening foods. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Obesity and overweight are increasing steadily in many countries around the world. It is suggested that this problem can be solved by increasing the price of high-fat foods. I disagree with this idea because there are many more important causes of weight gain. The essay below will discuss and make additions to my point of view.
The first reason for keeping my opinion is that many young people are willing to spend large sums of money to enjoy its special taste. There is information that junk food such as pizza, hamburgers, or salty snacks causes dopamine to be produced in the body, causing appetites to grow. Consequently, they constantly want to eat it, continue to buy and consume high-fat foods that affect their health.
Additionally, obesity has become more and more prevalent among many people, not only due to eating unhealthy foods but also to sedentary lifestyles. When eating, the body stores calories and cholesterol that cannot be dissolved, creating fatty tissue that accumulates, causing weight gain. According to recent studies, even though people have a nutritious diet, inactivity still leads to obesity. Therefore, physical activity plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy and fit body.
Finally, the drastic measures to combat the obesity crisis begin with the family. It is for this reason that grandparents and parents should prepare healthy, delicious meals every single day. Adults can replace ready-to-eat meals with foods that are low in fat and sugar, and add more vegetables and fruits. In addition, family members have the opportunity to spend free time together playing outdoor activities, which will help control weight and also strengthen family bonds.
In conclusion, increasing the price of fattening food is not necessarily the ideal solution to controlling fat content in people. I believe that promoting an active lifestyle and exercising will help people lose weight.
