The pie chart
The pie chart shows four reasons why farmland significantly decreased in the world today. In general, deforestation and over- gzazing hold 65% in whole. Over- cultivation stood 28%. And the other reasons account for only 7%.
And the four reasons affected three countries of the world during the 1990s, namely, North America, Europe and Oceania. With deforestation, Europe stood at 9.8% whereas the impact of North America and Oceania was minimal with 0.2% and 1.7% respectively. Move on to over- cultivation, Europe continued to lead to 7.7%. By constract, Oceania hit a low with 0% and North America with 3.3%. Oceania, total land degraded with 13% and suffered from 11.3% of over- grazing- the highest percentage of 3 countries. While the others suffered 1.5% and 5.5% respectively. Moreover, total land degraded of Europe hit a high with 23%, so they bore the biggest damage. However, North America suffered the lowest losses with 5% in 3 regions.
Conclusion, it is precise that Europe stood more farmland than the other countries in the world. And that loss came from deforestation and over-cultivation .
