Some people think that national sports teams and individual men and women who represent their country should be financially supported by the government. However, others argue that they should be funded by non-government sources (Business, scholarship, etc.)
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Some people suppose that national athletes as a representation of their country should obtain financial support from the government, even though others assume that sportspersons should be funded by non-government sources. This essay will explain both perspectives throughout the following paragraphs.
Half of the society suggests that the authority provide financial support to athletes due to a part of society which has spent their income on the government’s tax. These ones have to get their rights to improve skills and guarantee after retirement. The administration must be aware of this topic because all athletes have struggled for the country. For example, all members of China's national team in the Olympics 2016 in Rio Janeiro, Brazil obtained their rights such as medals and guarantee for them and their family. This leads to the players focus on their goals and they participate in supporting the next generation in the future.
However, others mention that non-government sources should support sports players economically since the funding from the government is insufficient to aid them. Some athletes have to find side jobs to survive hence, never has the government given more attention to the quality of athlete’s life. Such contribution of non-government is crucial that athlete improve their quality in order to get the best result in the competitions. For instance, the badminton national team of Indonesia reached a peak in 2018 when the team was fully powered by Djarum Foundation. At the time, the Indonesian team won several important tournaments such as the Olympics in Japan, All England, and the Asian Games.
In conclusion, as a part of society, the athletes have to be supported by the government because they have given their best in the name of the country, yet the government which is impossible to focus only on this sector likely needs support from non-government.
