Essay topics:

Some people think young people should follow the traditions of their society. Others think that they should be free to behave as individuals. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a debate about whether young people should conform to societal traditions. While I believe that following traditions is important, I also think that young people should be able to express their individuality.

It is essential that the young have the freedom to pursue their interests and beliefs. it is vital for young people to express themselves and pursue their own interests and passions. By being able to make their own choices, they can develop a sense of autonomy and independence, which can be essential for their personal growth and well-being. Additionally, some traditions may be outdated or harmful, and young people should be able to challenge them. For example, Vietnam’s past culture of child marriage has now been virtually eradicated owing to community growing awareness and demands for individual freedom and respect.

However, there are valid reasons why young people should uphold certain societal traditions. By following these values, they can gain a sense of identity and belonging to their culture and history. Moreover, respecting traditions can help instill a sense of responsibility and discipline, preparing young people for their future social responsibilities. Children who grow up in religious homes that practice frequent prayer and worship, for example, may learn responsibility and discipline from going to these gatherings. They might believe that it is their role to participate in these religious rituals and uphold their responsibilities to their community.

In summary, while it is important to encourage young people to express themselves, they should also be encouraged to appreciate and uphold societal traditions that are beneficial to their personal and social development.
