Imagine that you are in a classroom or meeting. The teacher or the meeting leader says something incorrect. In your opinion, which of the following is best thing to do? 1-Interrupt and correct the mistake right away. 2-Wait until the class or meeting is over and then talk to the teacher or meeting leader. 3- Say nothing
It is a difficult question to answer because it depends on each person's belief and aspect, but totally I think that it is better for students to wait until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone, and then talk to the teacher or meeting leader. I hold this view because of several reasons.
Firstly, if a person decides to interrupt the lecture or meeting in order to correct the mistake right away, probably teacher o meeting leader would consider this method as rudeness and impoliteness. In other words, by doing that you may offend the teacher, because teacher may understands you as an insolent and imprudent person, consequently, he or she might get upset or bothered. Therefore, teacher perhaps oust you from class or meeting and it will result in inappropriate events
Secondly, waiting until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone is better manner, because by correcting teacher's mistake right away, you will destroy the students trust toward teacher and they will never take him serious. For instance, when I was 13 years old, my physics teacher wrote an irrelevant formula on the blackboard while he was teaching us. After a while, one of the students raised his hand and asked the teacher to correct his mistake during the class. After the class, most of the students were talking about that event and they told each other that our teacher is not skillful and well-experienced, because he is not able to remember a simple formula, let alone teaching us efficiently. Thus that student by behaving indecently, ruin the students confidence toward their teacher.
Finally, talking to teacher after a class to correct his mistake also assist both student and teacher because they have more time to discuss and debate about that particular issue after the class than during the class. They can better concentrate on subject and pay attention to teacher's response that maybe teacher have been able to convince the student that he did not make a mistake during class, instead, student misunderstood the topic, because everything is possible and we should not think that always we are right.
In general, I believe that it is better for students to wait until the class is over, and then talk to the teacher, because students should always respect their teachers even when their teacher have made a mistake.
