lake

Essay topics:

lake

The author claims that there are three solutions to restore the Salton sea from

the high density of salt in it. However, the lecturer points out that these solutions are not feasible and provides three reasons to support her opinion.

First of all, the author suggests that salt can be eliminate directly by transporting the lake's water into the facilities in order to evaporate water. So salt and other materials remain and then by cooling the steam, water returns to the lake. This statement is challenged by the lecturer. She says that the remnant of evaporation is not the only salt and can consist of some toxic chemicals that might be harmful to humans when these chemicals are breathed.

Secondly, the writer contends that water can be transported from the Pacific ocean to the lake. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by asserting that the cost of water transport is high since it needs 100-kilometer pipelines or canals.

Finally. it is stated in the article that the salinity of the lake can be reduced by constructing some walls in order to divide the lake into some sections. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that these walls are so vulnerable to earthquakes and are not a solution for long term purposes.
