Advantages of working as a team, and argues by the lecturer.
The reading and the lecturer are about whether working in a team is beneficial or not. The reading stated that working as a team is an advantage which the lecturer refutes by arguing that teamwork has some disadvantages. The lecturer supports his arguments by mentioning contribution, quickness of solution on responding to an issue, and influence of some people in the group.
First, according to the reading, people working as a team is beneficial for a company as they together possess a wide range of knowledge and expertise. However, the lecturer claimed that some people show less effort and contribution. When the team did a good job, people who contributed less also benefited from the recognition of the team.
Secondly, the reading stated that people working as a team provided quicker solutions and worked more efficiently than a single individual would. Yet, the lecturer stated that working as a team brought about some issues as a response to projects. Since all the members of the group did not agree upon the solutions, it took time and many conferences to take a decision as a group, therefore, projects did not move as quickly as the reading stated.
Thirdly, the reading stated that working as a team people work more creatively because everyone has different ideas. On the contrary, the lecturer stated that people who influenced more in the team presented their ideas as highly creative. When other members of the team wanted to adjust the idea presented, they were ignored. Consequently, when a project failed, the negative reputation was placed in everyone not individually.
Overall, while the reading stated that working as a team has many advantages, the lecturer contradicts the point presented in the reading.
