In set of material, both the author and the lecturer discuss about existence of bees as early as 200 million years ago. Very old fossil structures discovered inside fossilized trees in the state of Arizona support this hypothesis. While the author of the reading reading passage declares that such a theory cannot be possible, the professor explain how they are possible, and the author's claims do not convince her. In what follows, reasons of the author and the professor will be discussed.
Firsly, the reading asserts that scientists have not found actual bees fossils as yearly as million years ago. On the other hand, the professor believes they can not be preserved.
Secondly, according to the passage, it is said that there was no flowering plants in that era. In contrast, the lecturer says it was possible for bees to live without flowering plants, and they probably feed on other trees such as non-pine trees. They could adapt themselves feeding on them.
Finally, the author of the reading proclaims that the nest chambers are approximately similar to fossilized structures found in Arizona. However, the professor explains that some of the chambers nest have chemical substances that it can distinguish them with bees.
In conclusion, the professor disagrees with claims of the author.
