Elephant Behaviors

The reading and the lecture are both about elephant behaviors. The author of the reading feels that there are several beliefs about surprising elephant behaviors. The lecturer challenges the claims made by the author. She is of opinion that elephant are fascinating is misunderstanding.
First, the author of the reading argues that elephants are aware of approaching death. The article mentions that when the elephants feel they are old and weak they will separate from the herds and go alone near the water to die a lone. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. She claims that when elephants separate from herds does not mean they are dying. Additionally, she says that there are several reasons that elephants go alone near water like their teeth wore down and they go near water to look for softer food.
Secondly, the writer suggests that elephants representing objects through art. In the article, it is said that elephants have artistic ability and they can hold a brush with their trunk and paint on canvas. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by mentioning that elephants eras are big and sensitive. She elaborates on this by bringing up the point that elephants eras are large and very sensitive and paint trainer can stroke that ears to stimulate the elephant to learn and remember specific pattern of moving brush and elephant does not know necessarily that this line will draw flower.
Finally, the author posits that elephants have fear from mice. Moreover, the article stated that elephants leave area that they find mice in it and they have fear from it more than dangerous animals like lions, tigers. In contrast, the lecturer's position is that elephant does not have fear from mice. She notes that mice are unfamiliar to elephants and they take caution from them till they get familiar to them then they will not have a fear from them anymore and elephants are living in area of mice they do not have fear from mice because they are already living with mice and know them.
in conclusion the lecturer opinion is in contrast to author beliefs.
