Elephants are fascinating creatures. They are the largest land animals in the world, with their long trunk, wing-like ears, and ivory teeth. We have been interested in them for a long time, and we have some beliefs about their behaviors.

First of all, we think that they can know when their death is near. Text suggests that when elephants grow older, theyare going to places near water, therefore sparing themselves from their group, and forming elephant graveyards. This can be proved by the findings of old elephant bones in these sites. However, lecturer claims the reason of this behavior is different. When they become older, their teeth become less sharp, so that they need softer food, which can be found near the water.

Secondly, we believe that they can make meaningful arts. Text states that the elephants can hold a paintbrush and they can use it to paint significant paintings. Lecturer tells this is actually trainers guiding them during this painting, simply by touching their ears, which are very sensitive and can be used to manipulate the elephants.

Lastly, people have believed that elephants are afraid of mice or similar small mammals since the Roman times, when a philosopher and a scientist Pliny the Elder mentioned about it. Text suggests there has been a recent scientific experiment to prove that. Whereas lecturer claims it is merely because the elephants are not used to mice in their natural habitate, and it is a natural instinct to be afraid of creatures that they don't know.

As a conclusion, elephants have been fascinating for us for a long time. We need more proofs to explain their interesting behaviors.
