Migration in North America
The reading passage states that the first people to migrate to the American continent entered via the Northern Land Bridge. The professor, estimating that period to be between the 11000 - 13000 years ago counters this idea. He claims that studies on archaelogical sites prove that they were older than that and could be dated to as far as 19000 years ago. The Professor continued by saying that there was a group of people that was living in North America 50000 years ago, which casts doubt on the reading passage's claim that argues that the first people migrated 11000 to 13000 years ago.
Although the reading passage mentions that new migrants were isolated in teh Asian side, the professor argues that the oldest remains in North America do not ressemble those of Americans. On the contrary, they are similar to Japanese and Pacific Islands people's.
The reading passage suggests that the first people who crossed the Beringia were the first to occupy North America. The professor contradicts by pronouncing that the DNA o fpeople from siberia depicts that they have migrated in North America 40000 years ago.
