People are reading less literature. Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading.

The article introduces the topic of literature, its value nowadays. More specifically, the writer discusses that young people read less literature than before. The lecturer casts doubt each of the ideas mentioned in the reading passage.

The writer begins with stating that unfortunately, there is a huge decline in book reading. reading exercises our imagination and expand our understanding. The lecturer in the listening passage disagrees. he believes that reading still stimulated. he says that reading develops our imagination and less people read good book.

Secondly, the author also claims that there are many talented writers today, but they lack the audience. less people support them. Therefore, it is likely that literature will decline as there are poor standards of today’s readers. Conversely, the professor says that although there are many gifted writers in this day and age, many of them use complex language and it becomes very difficult for readers to understand and grasp something.

Third, the author claims that people more likely to turn on TV, listen to music and read articles from the web., that read a book. these entertainment activities lowered the level of culture. However, the professor argues that people profit from these entertainment activities, because they can learn in this way something about their culture.

To put it in a nutshell, both the writer and the professor hold conflicting views about nowadays readers. it is obvious that they will have trouble in finding common ground on this issue.
