The reading and the lecture are both about huge animal lived in the ancient times nearby dinasurs called Pterosaurs and their ability to fly. More specifically, in regard to the passage, the writer presents three theories about uncapable of these animals to fly. The lecturer disputes the claims made in the article. His position is that recent reseaches confirms that Pterosaurs can make powered flight.
First and foremost, the author of the reading states Pterosaurs are coold-blooded animals that have slow metabolism, so they can not produce sufficient energy to powered flight. The article mentions that birds which can fly have warm-blooded which can help them to fly. This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that Pterosaurs have either fir or hair like warm-blooded to maintain their tempreature using metabolism. Additinally, he points out that if Pterosaurs have high rates ofmetabolism, so it can help them to fly.
Secondly, the author suggests Pterosaurs are heavy animals so they are limited to fly. In the article it is said that they cannot flap their wings or fly for anytime. Again, the speaker specifically addresses this point when he states Pterosaurs have specific anatomic features to make their weight light. He goes on to say that their bones are hollow that makes their weight low which can assist them to make powered flight.
Finally, the author brings his argument to a close by suggesting that large Pterosaurs cannot take off from ground because their weight, Also they lack strong muscles in their legs to push them to the air. Not surprisingly, the professor takes issue with this claim by contending that Pterosaurs can walk on four limes like bats, so this can help them to push up from the ground. He notes that these animals can either run or jump into the air without any difficulty.
