The reading and the lecture both discuss whether R. robustus is an active hunter or a scavenger mammal. While the reading claims that R.robustus is a scavenger that fed on dinosaur eggs containing unhatched dinosaurs, the lecturer refuts this claim saying that R.robustus is an active hunter.
First of all, the reading asserts R. robustus is smaller than a psittacosaures. Therefore, is unlikely that R.robustus would have been able to successfully hunt psittacosaures or smaller dinosaurs. However, the professor challenge this point by pointing out that it could be true that R. robustus did not hunt a grownup psittacosaures. But it could hunt baby psittacosaures or smaller animal. According to the professor, R. robustous mass is double the mass of baby Psitaacosaures. Consequently, R. robustous could hunt psittacosaures.
second, the reading states that the leg for R.robustus appear much more suited for scavenging than hunting because they were short and located to the side rather than underneath the animal's body. As a result, it is not possible that fast moving psittacosaurs could be hunted by short leged animal. On the other hand, the professor argues the second point of the reading passage saying that Tashmanian Devil is a modern mammal that possessed short legs positioned on the side of the body. this animal was a successful hunter because he could run at 50,000 Km speed to hunt its prey.
Moreover, the reading states that the dinosaur bones inside R.robustus did not reveal any evidence of tooth marks. For this reason, the author suggests that R. robustus simply found dinosaur nest and swallowed an unhatched psittacosaur egg. The lecture casts doubt on the claim made in the reading passage by pointing out that R. robustous had a powerful jaw, it is likely that this mammal swallowed its prey as whole without chewing it. As a result, the absence of both the marks on the prey's bones and the wear on the back teeth of R. robustus indicate that this animal was an active hunter.

- The reading and the lecture both discuss whether dinosaurs were endothermal mammals or not. While the reading states that are three significant evidence that dinosaurs were endotherms, the lecture of the other hand refutes each of the evidence provided in 81
