Solutions to prevent injuries of glass to birds

Based on the seemingly reasonable evidence, the reading insists that there might be three solutions that can prevent birds from flying into buildings which uses glass as a building material. However, the professor strongly disapproves of the above and then presents several pieces of evidence to support his idea.

First, the reading contends that if the normal glass is replaced by one-way glass, which is transparent only on one side, then it can stop birds from bumping into it. Yet, the professor refutes this conclusion, demonstrating that because of the nontransparent side which reflects like a mirror, so this makes it an ineffective way.

Moreover, the reading attempts to inform that painting the glass with colors may have the chance of dealing with the issue. The professor, however, suggests that though some parts of the glass are painted, the remaining parts are still transparent. Unless the glass is painted dense, though it can be hard for people to look outside.

At last, the reading assumes that an artificial magnetic field can be created to guide the birds' paths. But one critical fact is neglected. pointed out by the professor, although birds have a natural ability to navigate their way, it will only function when they need to migrate for a long distance. On the contrary, only their eyes and the sense of light are used for short distances.

In conclusion, it seems that the reading and the lecture are both about solutions to prohibit injuries to birds, the three main points made in the passage are adequately challenged by the lecturer.
