Solutions to prevent injuries of glass to birds

Essay topics:

Solutions to prevent injuries of glass to birds.

In the reading material, the author cites three reasons to support his idea that these solutions can prevent birds to collide with mirror. However, the lecturer in the listening material argues that none of these solutions is useful, and opposite the point of the reading material.

First and foremost, the author argues that one-way glass can help birds recognize the glass. Nevertheless, the lecturer offers an opposite stand that on the one-way glass outside, is reflect like a mirror, and birds do not understand mirror, if mirror reflect the sky, the bird will think the mirror is sky.

In addition, the author's second point that when birds see the colorful stripes over glass, they will not fly through this is also counteracted by the lecturer who point out that birds will think the stripes as opening hole, if a bird see a hole, they fly through it. more stripes can make the hole small, but the room will be too dark.

Finally, the author's third point that magnetic window can helps birds understand the window exist is also counteracted by the lecturer who points out that birds only navigate by the magnetic signal when they travel long distance, like from cold place to warm place, when traveling a short trip, they navigate by eyes and lights. So magnetic signal would not have much effects.
