submarine detects an odd sound in the ocean.

Essay topics:

submarine detects an odd sound in the ocean.

Both the reading and the listening passage discuss a fascinating topic pertaining to weird sounds that be heard in the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. The author of the reading passage states that submarines are not able to detect the source of the sounds because it seems to be moving with great speed and agility. However, the listening section brings into question the reading points by providing different reasons for support.

First of all, the author argues that this sound is generated by ocra whales to accomplish a lovely ritual; in contrast, the professor opposes this view by mentioning that the whales are living near the surface of the ocean, but submarines are almost circulate in the deep ocean. As a result, it is unlike that submarines could not find this sounds. Clearly, a disparity exists between the article and the evidence exhibited by the professor.

Secondly, the article puts forth the idea that the special feature of giant squids which has a soft body with no skeleton does not let submarines be aware of their presentence. conversely, this point is challenged by the lecturer. According to the professor, giant squids keep living in the ocean from the past and they have been detected by submarines for one decade so it is impossible that they do not recognize it for 20 years.

Finally, the author mentions that the resource of this sound may be foreign submarines that are secretly patrolling the area. The lecturer, on the other hand, states that a submarine is not able to redirect the path without creating noise, so the sonar system can easily detect it. Moreover, the lecturer believes that submarine is not enough fast in order to be silent when it wants to perform a mission or patrols in the ocean.

In summary, while both the passage and classroom discussion provide interesting information with regards to the resources of the odd sounds in the sea, the lecturer effectively casts doubt on all of the claims presented in the reading.
