TOEFL TPO 51 - integrated writing

The reading claims that humans are being fascinated by elephants and asserts three examples to demonstrate that statement. However, the professor finds all the ideas dubious and presents some evidence to refute them all.
The author argues that when elephants become old and weak, they leave their herd and go somewhere to die alone. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that not all of the elephants are aware of this issue. She mentions that, when elephants become old and weak, their teeth lose the ability of chewing; so, they leave their herd to continue living near water due to soft vegetation of that area. Hence, the reason that why the passage argues that bones of elderly elephants are discovered near water, mentioned by the professor as the elderly elephants graze in that regions at the end of their life.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that elephants look to have artistic ability. On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that when humans as trainer of elephants, touch their ear, the elephant remember to use brush stroke to draw something. She adds that, in fact, those lines that are drawn by elephants are not really line or even an animal and the elephant is not cognizant of that.
Finally, the reading asserts that elephants have a fear of mice. In contrast, the speaker dismisses this issue due to the fact that elephants do not react to the mice. In fact, the reaction of elephants to the mice are due to the fact that they are catious of unfamiliar animals. The professor, in further, brings up the example of zoo, that in zoos when the elephant becomes aware of mice, it does not react to them and deos not mind them.
