The lecturer doubts three arguments presented in the reading that explain the uses of Chaco Canyon settlment's building.
First, although it has large architecture in the outside, the fact show that there is no evidence that the buildings were used for residential purpose inside the buildings. There were less fireplace inside it which will be not sufficient for a hundred families to live in that buildings.
Second, according to the passage, Chaco structures were used to store food supplies. However, the lecturer refutes by saying that the evidence did not support it. He says that there were no big container for storing food inside the building. Also, there were no more trace that can support this theory.
Third, the reading asserts that there was another building close to the house which is used for special ceremony. Nevertheless, the professor disputes this argument. He explains that the building, called Pueblo Alto, was used to store building materials leftovers like stones, sand, and construction tools. Moreover, a large number of broken pots that was revealed in excavations were supposed used by the builders.
