Both the lecture and the reading are discussing many ways that have been included to stop Cane toads spread in Australia. As a result, it would carry young toads and their eggs through the fence and they would be able to build their nests on another side. To wrap things up, the final point of discords relates to improving a disease-causing virus to limited cane toads populations. The speaker suggests that there will be terrible consequences by using disease-causing viruses. In fact, he explains that animals infected by these viruses can be moved to the United States of America by researchers and animal collectors. So, they would have great damage to the native species in the ecosystem as a whole. In contrast, the text confirms that creating a disease-causing virus would pause cane toads populations from growing and reproducing.
