The reading depicts that the vessels, which gained in Iraq, were used as old electric batteries, and it claims it could not be used as the battery in ancient times. The author provides some reasons for supporting this hypothesis. However, the speaker finds all the reasons dubious and presents some evidence to refute all three factors.

First, the reading argues that as it does not attach to any metal so it could not be an electrical battery. In contrast, the speaker dismisses this view by standing that it is not an archeological object and does not recognize the metal.

Second, the reading passage points out that its copper cylinder is similar to the one that was found on the ruins of Seleucia which contains the scrolls of sacred texts. To provide more reason, the author mentioned it has the same shape too. On the contrary, the lecturer casts doubt on this issue and states that perhaps their origin was the same and they used for scrolls, but it can bear as the battery too, in other words, it adopts for another purpose.

Last but not least the reading proposes that there is no evidence to support that any devices were to reply to electricity. On the other hand, the speaker rebuts this reason and make a reason to support his idea. The speaker illustrated that it may be used for healing, in the past, the doctors used it to stimulate the muscles and to cure some pains.
