TPO-32 - Integrated Writing Task

The article discusses that the cause of the underwater sounds in Russian submarines and provides three theories to explain. However, the professor cast doubt on all the explanation made in the article.
First, the article states that the strange noises were actually the calls of male and female orca whales during a courtship ritual. The professor refutes this point by saying that orca whales are live near the surface, but submarines typically remain deep in the ocean and should not have been able to hear the whale sound from near the surface.
Second, the reading material avers that the sounds were caused by giant squid. The professor, conversely, disagrees with this explanation by stating that the squid have always lived in the ocean, but Russian submarine first detected quackers sound in the 1960s and disappeared two decades later in 1980s.
Third, the reading claims that the Russian submarines were picking up stray sounds from some military technology of another country's submarines that were secretly patrolling the area. The professor contends this point by saying that the submarine can not move or change the direction that quickly.
