TPO 36- Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they respond to the specific points made in the reading passage.

The reading and lecture both discused the hail and cloud seeding. While the reading suggests that the cloud seeding is effective, the professor believes that it is not been proved whether it is beneficial or not and she gave some reason for her opinion which are elaborated hereunder.
First, the reading cliams that laboratory experiments endorse the idea that cloud seeding is effective. Nevertheless, the teacher alleged that although silver iodide can be used to make snow instead of hail pellets, they would also, prevent from any kind of precipitiation. Owing to reasong which this material will have effect on every cloud, such a condition will cuase drought in places where the probabality of raining is low. Consequently, the plants and farms will die due to lack of water.
Second, while the reading suggests the effect of this method by elaborating upon Asia's cloud seeding, the professor broaden some hints upon the factor of urban and non-urban places. She claims that there is a great degree of uncertainty whether this approach is beneficairy for unpolluted areas. Hence, she thinks that it was effevtive in Asia becuase it was experimented in urban, polluted ares rather than unpolluted areas; Thus, it may not be a great method in United States.
Ultimately, the reading advocate the mechanism, by giving the evidence of local areas. On the other hand, the lecturer cast doubt on this issue due to the factor that other regions were also less damaged campare to years before. Consequently, she believes that it may happened due to a fluctuation in cloud in that local regions.
