The reading claims that many scientists agree that it is not possible to human presence on Mars or Moon and presents three reasons to support its approach. However, the lecturer finds all ideas which have been mentioned by the reading dubious and provides some evidences to refute them all. He believes that If the station build in 50 kilometers above surface and it is flooding in atmosphere, these problems can be solved.
First, the author argues that the atmospheric pressure at Venus' surface is greater than earth. So every spacecraft or human would be crushed when they want to landing. In contrast, the speaker brings up the idea that the pressure at 50 kilometers above the surface is equal by earth's pressure. So there is any crash at this level.
Furthermore, the reading holds the view that although there are many substances such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfuric acid on Venus' surface, there is not any reservoir of water or oxygen on it. So human cannot survived and they must import from earth in the extreme size and it is impossible solution. On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that they can make water and oxygen out of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid which are abundant on Venus' surface. So they can survive easily by water and oxygen which have been obtain from other substance and it is not important to import these substance from earth.
Finally, the reading passage asserts that there is a little sunlight on planets' surface, for most of sunlight have reflected by thick clouds that fill the atmosphere. So human cannot generate electricity to charge their machines and equipment. Conversely, the lecturer dismisses the issue due to the fact that these clouds are in 50 kilometers above the surface. So the station can use the sunlight which has been reflected by thick clouds. Also because of the station's elevation, they can use the direct sunlight. So human can get electricity for their apparatus from direct and reflected sunlight.
