TPO19-Question : Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage
The lecture and the reading are both about the marketing strategy called buzzing. The author argues that are three explanations that justify the banning of buzzing in advertisements. The lecture, in other hand, holds the opposite view. He is of the opinion that these explanations are faulty.
To begin with, the author suggests that buzzing can give for a person an incorrect information about the buzzed product. This specific argument is challenged by the lecture. He points out that companies look for people that have a good impression of a product. As a result, he argues that people who do not like the good will not give a ordinary praise.
Secondly, the writing feels that this marketing strategy pretends consumers listen to their endorsements less critically than they should. However, the lecture posits that opposite view of this explanation is true. So, he give an example that if a consumers do not have their question answered about the price, they will not buy the product.
Finally, the reading manifests that buzzing is a tactic which result in the spread of mistrust and the expectation of dishonesty. This idea is rejected by the lecture. He believes that a buzzing will not work if the product or a service is bad. For instance, he says that the buzzing strategy is a way to increase the trustful of people, not decrease it as the reading said.
