The reading specifies that there are three argument to support the migration hypothesis of edmontosaurs. However, the professor explains that this arguments are not convinicing and refutes each of author's reasons.
First, reading states that Edmontosaur fed on plants and its diet support the idea that they migrate. Nevertheless, the speaker say that the Edmontosaurs do not need to migrate because in the pase the weather was warmer and during the summer sunshine help vegetation to grow up and when winter comes, the Edmontosaurs could use the nutrient of this dead vegetation. Hence, they could easily live there.
Second, based on the reading, the fact that Edmontosaurs live in herds support that they migrated. In contrast, the lecturer believes that there are many reasons to live in the herds and of this reason is for extera protection form predators and it is not necceary for them to migrate.
Third, according to reading, Edmonosaurs were physically capable of travel long distanes to reach hospitable regions. On the contrary, juvenile edmonosaurs could not migrate this long distances and also edmonosaurs do not leaver their juvenile in the cold weather. Therefore, whole herds of the edmontosaurs stay and live in that cold weather.
Therefore, the specifics points mentioned in the reading to not make sense.
