The reading states that we are experiencing global warming, and the evidence for this is clear. Also, it provides three reasons to support the issue. however, the professor explains that there is no conclusive proof, and we do not know exactly about that, and he refutes all of the author’s reasons.
First, the reading asserts that data from sophisticated instruments across the globe introduced a warming trend. however, the professor opposes this point by discussing the data accuracy. he claims that although over the last century warm increasing were observable, the way of maintaining and controlling data can cause a significant change in results. Except for the US and European valid data, the rest of it should be eliminated as they are not authentic. Besides, he points out that there is no credible evidence of global warming after 1997.
Second, the reading posits that the secondary evidence acknowledges the rising temperature. however, the professor counters this point by providing an example of icebergs in Antarctica. he explains that icebergs breaking can be affected by two different processes, warming, and cooling transfer. In addition, although temperature rising can lead to ice breaking, the other unnatural happening for this issue are not known yet. Consequently, further assessments require spending more time and professional studies.
Third, the reading suggests that unbiased organizations such as respected newspapers and international organizations have considered the pieces of evidence and accepted global warming. however, the professor refutes this point by talking about the time of the published. he states that public newspapers try to publish the more fascinating pieces of evidence before evaluating data by related organizations. they write a story about the temperature rising without considering whether it is true or not. So, their alarming is not for informing people.
