The reading discusses the mass-extinction occured at the end of triassic period. The author mentions that it caused around half of the living animals extict in a short time, whereas there is no distinct explanation for it. Otherwise, the speaker points out the theories described in the passage, at time, opposes them.
First of all, accordinf to the lecturer, scientists concure with the fact explained in the article, sea levels descended at the end of the triassic era, she expresses that it lasts many years to affect on them, though; it is because of land-species ability that they are always able to adapt themselves to the rough circumstances.
Furthermore, the author connects the reason of the mass-extinction to the volcanos' eruptions. The so2 rises as a result of volcanic activity can play a role of obstrucle against the sunlight. it could maintain the temperature low. On the other word, the cold weather maybe one of the feasable reasons. Although, the speaker rejects this claim. she asserts that so2 would be cleared out of the atmosphere in a short time, hence it couldn't be the options.
Finally, the lecturer declares that many experts are in the opinion of the third theory explained by the author, plus she says that it can be dated to the extinction's era. The claim, it happened 2 million years before the extinction, which mentioned by her contracts to the final theory becayse 2 million years is too long not to do anything with it.
