TPO40

The author of the lecture asserts that living on venus is impossible because of three reasons. The lecturer, however, finds this idea dubious and casts doubt on the reasons proposed by the reading passage.

First of all, the writer mentioned that atmospheric pressure of venuse surface is at least 90 times greater that earth. On the contrary, the lecturer underlines a solution for this problem. Indeed, pressure on the surface of venus is very higher than earth, but pressure on the atmosphere of venus is equal to earth. As a consequence, by constructing stations which are placed 50 kilometer away from surface, the problem of high pressure would be solved.

Furthermore, the author of reading states that venus does not have any reservoir of water. Therefore, the required water should be supply from the earth which is impractical. Conversely, the professor mentions that atmosphere of venus include carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid which could be use for produce of water. Thus, we do not have to transfer water from the earth, and it could be made from the venus' atmosphere.

Finally, the reading passage mentioned that most of the sunlight reflect due to the thick clouds in atmosphere of venus. Also, the energy for producing electricity could not be provide. On the contrast, the speaker dismisses this idea and mentions that these clouds are not very thick, so sunlight could pass from these cloulds. Moreover, stations could supply the energy for producing large amount of electricity by reflecting the sunlight in different direction.
