The reading text and lecture are both about the fighter Spartacus. While, the author feels that Spartacus was the real hero for the common peoples. Although, lecturer disputers all these claims made by the author and his position is that, mentioned facts aer based on the stories, and these stories are not real.
First of all, the reading text suggests that, main goal of the Spartacus was to successfully returning back to their motherland with the numerous slaves, which are present in Roman's cage. However, the lecturer claim that, returning to the homeland was not the main goal, he many time got the opportunity to escape from the roman territory but, he marching toward the roman instead from leaving that region. Additionally, he states that major motive of Spartacus to take revange and theft all the wealth of romans empire.
Secondly, passage argues that, Spartacus was a great military leader. It is also said that, He firstly, won the many battle against the roman because of his wise intellectual. In contrast to that, professor believe that, in the first the roman empire was taking a Spartacus as a amature fighter, so that they send out the less trained militart men to fought against him. But, after losses the several battle roman empire sent out his best fighter, at that time Spartacus losses was defeated by the roman.
Furthermore, The writer said that, Spartacus was a hero for the local people because he liberal many slave and saved the basic human right of them. On the other hand, tutor point out that, this facts are only based on the narrative, it does not have any historical background. On top of that, these tails are created by the early antislavery movement. During this time leader of that movement, is finding some great leader who was fought against the slavery, so in their research they found the name of Spartacus. After that, they created a narrative that, he was the great leader, to rainforsed the movement.
