The reading and the lecture are both about certification to wood companies, which is about accepting high ecological standards by protecting resource and using material that can be use after using. The author of reading believs that it is unlikely that wood companies will do the same. The lecture casts doubt on the claims made in the article. He thinks that there are good reasons for people to buy these products.
First of all, the author claims that there is so much advertising, and people usually do not believe that thay are trust about their products. This point is challenged by the lecture. He says that people can distinguish between these advertising programs, and recognize independent program than others.
Secondly, the authors states that if people decide to choose ecocertified products, it will be more expensive and it is not economical. This argument is rebutted by the lecture. He suggests this question; how does not care about the value of product? He elaborates on this mentioning that these product is not much more expensive than others, so people choose them because there is different small price.
Finally, the author mentions that certification would make sence for american wood compnies only if they marketed most of their products abroad. The lecture, on the other hand, feels that they have to pay attention to international markets.
