The article states that as though life on mars or the moon is possible for human being it is impossible to maintain a human presence on Venus and provides three reasons of support. However the professor refutes this idea by saying that as challenging life on Venus could be it is actually quite possible and challenges each of the reasons mentioned in the article
First, the author says that because of Venus's high atmospheric pressure, the in habitation of this planet is impossible however the lectures claims that it is true that atmospheric pressure on Venus is high but if a station is installed about kilometers above the surface atmospheric pressure would be highly reduced and it could even be equal to that on the earth's surface and there for there will be no danger threatening the station.
Second, in the article we learn that Venus lacks reservoirs of water and oxygen .However the professor clearly states that because of the chemical compounds in the Venusian atmosphere water can be reproduced using these substances and there for no need to import it
Third, the reading claims that Venus is a planet with very little sunlight because of the presence of clouds but the professor opposes this idea by explaining that above the surface these clouds are not thick enough and can let the sunlight through we also learn that they have the ability to reflect sunlight and thus humans can collect both the infiltrated and reflected sunlight to produce electricity and therefore making life on Venus possible
