Tourists in Japan
The bar graph above displays the change of the amount of tourists that go aboard measured in number in millions in a 10 year period, from 1985 to 1995 and the line chart below renders the change of Australia’s share of Japanese tourists measured in percentage during the same period.
First looking at the bar graph above. Generally speaking, the number of tourists that travel aboard in Japan inclined drastically from 5 millions in 1985 to 15 millions in 1995. A dramatic increase can be seen in the amount of international tourists of Japan to just below 11 millions in 1990. Thereafter, Japan witnessed a relatively mild growth to just below 12 millions with 1 drop. From the time onwards, the years of 1993 to 1995 saw a enormous incline to 15 millions.
Moving on to the line chart below, a increasing trend can be seen in Australia’s share of Japan’s tourist market. The proportion of Japanese tourists that traveled to Australia inclined considerably from 2% i 1985 to just below 5% in 1989. On the contrary, Japan experienced a drop to just above 4% to 1990. Thereafter, the years of 1990 to 1994 saw a moderate increase to just above 6%, followed by a mild decline to 6% in 1995.
