The chart shows the most played sports in New Zealand in 2002. According to the information, the most popular sport for girls was netball, with almost 25% presence. The second favourite sport was swimming played by more than 20% girls. At the same time, boys were not so interested for netball, while in the swimming almost 15% of them were included.
As for boys activities, the diagram shows that soccer was the number one sport in 2002. Almost 25% of them were playing the soccer as opposed to girls who participated in soccer with 5%. In the second place, boys showed the biggest interest for other sports, different from those presented in the diagram.
The diagram also represents the relevant data for basketball, tennis, martial art, athletics and cricket. According to the data, tennis and basketball were almost of the same importance for both boys and girls with nearly 10% of them included. Martial arts were more preferred by boys, while the girls performed 5% interest in the same activity. However, the least number of girls played cricket (less than 1% percent) and the boys were the least interested for netball.
