the fossils of T.rex
The reading passage, says that the 70 million year old fossil of T.rex still contain remains of the actual tissues of the animal because of some remaining of blood vessels, red blood cells and collagen matrix in broken bone. The lecturer casts doubts on the reasons which in provided by the reading.
First, the reading passage discusses that the small channels inside the leg bone correspond to the hollows of blood vessels. The lecturer rejects this point and explains that because of living bacteria in bones these hallows are residue of bacteria in these tissues.
Second, the reading passage states that presence of spheres could be the remains of blood cells in bones. The Professor, however, disagrees with this and claims that fossils of primitive animals does not have red blood cells and it shows that these red materials are reddish mineral which were seen in the bones.
Last, the reading passage points out that some performed test on the dinosaur leg bone shows that it contained collagen. The professor, refutes the idea and explains that collagen does not belong to the fossils of animal more than one million years ago, this tissue cannot remain more than one hundred years. It could be from a part of body like human's skin.
