The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map shows the plan to build a new supermarket in Garlsdon. Overall, it is clear that two sites possible to install the supermarket are outside of the town in the countryside (S1) and inside the city centre.
Looking at the site S1, since locating nearby the main road, the site is a potential benefit for the supermarket to reach further customers as residents in other areas can travel by train. Moreover, installing at this location could enable the supermarket to have the extension of space for parking. Also, citizens in both areas Hindon and Bransdon are able to commute by car within short distances 12km and 16km respectively.
Turning to the site S2, it is a considerable concern for shoppers parking car as well as driving since the city centre has no traffic zone. This site may be convenient for local residents only. However, people living in Cransdon (25km) and Hindon can go shopping by train.
