The graph below shows in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to more than technology in homes in the UK.
The line graph demonstrates changes in the percentage of domestic access to technology over the period between 1996 and 2003 in the UK.
As it can be seen, the percentage of all four typesof domestic access increased. Usage of CD players and home computers was rising with similar patterns. From 27 and 60% to approximately 57 and 81%respectively. It also should be noted that at the very beginning CD players were so popular and after 7 years, they didn’t change that leading position. But Home computer usage falled from 2nd to 3rd place of popularity.
In 1996, the percentage of mobile phones was the lowest, hitting a low of 18%. By gradual increase over each 2 years, it sharply rose to almost 70%, becoming the 2nd popular domestic access to modern technology.
What’s surprising, is that people started to use Internet only in 1998 and till the 2003 it significantly rose up from 10% up to 43%.
To sum up, there was only one trend apparent-upward trend. This ends my report.
