The table compares data about the adults aged 16 and over who were participating in different physical activities in a period of one month. The table has been drawn according to the preferences of both genders in the United Kingdom in 2002.
Overall, it is apparent that males were more involved in physical activities, while females fancied to do keep fit exercises.
According to the chart, approximately the same percentage of men and women were interested in walking (49% and 41%). Women were less likely to take part in cycling and weight training, almost 6% less than men. However fewer men than women preferred to go swimming and to do keep fit/yoga activities. The proportion of those males who were interested in cue sports was five times bigger than these figures for the opposite gender. The most noticeable feature of the chart is that only 10% of males were playing football, while no women participated in such kind of activity.
