We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in business, crime detection and even to fly planes. What things will they be used for in future? Is this dependence on computers a good thing or should we be more suspicious of their benefits?
More than 60 years have passed since the invention of computer, in this 60 years many advances have occurred in this technology and nowadays almost there are no areas where computer are not used, from domestic use to space technology and war. It is not far from the truth when we say computer is one of the two greatest inventions of human in twentieth century, also the widespread use of computer has led many to believe that in our time the one who does not know how to use computer is an uneducated person.
Nevertheless, extensive use of computer in all areas has led us to further dependency on this invention of human and by this fast growth it is not so difficult to anticipate that in near future we would have hundred per cent of dependency on computer and this is not an inspiring prospect.
However, computer is a very useful device for us humans, without computer we definitely could not reach to this point of advancement, things can be done faster, more accurate and in broader dimensions by computer. Moreover, one of computer applications which we are going to hear much more about it in future is in the field of artificial intelligence, though there are numerous warnings from human right activist about detrimental effects of this technology on human life. The fact is, no one can stop growth of technology, the thing we only can do is to try to be aware of its adverse effects and do our best to stop them as much as we can.
In conclusion, I personally believe in overall computer has much more advantages than disadvantages, yet I think probably its not a bad idea to be sometime little suspicious about this technology and the future this technology would bring to us.
