write a letter recommendation for one of your students.
First I noticed Mr. Avinash Patil was during my lectures of Database Programming because he had eccentric interest in the practical applications of the subject. He pursued the classes with utmost sincerity and was keen to get a good grasp of the concepts. His involvement made the lectures interactive and fruitful. Because of his determination to studies, he was able to frequently secure good grades in many courses as evidenced by his transcripts. His GPAs put him in the distinctive students of that batch. This brings me to the evaluation process we had.
During the course we had three unit tests, to evaluate students’ knowledge on ongoing chapters, of which best scores from two tests would be used in final evaluations. On completion of each semester students had to face subjective examinations and comprehensive oral interviews (Viva voce). And I used to frequently participate as a member of evaluation panel to examining students’ ability to practically apply the taught concepts. Avinash had been able to consistently secure top grades in Comprehensive Viva and distinctive grades in unit tests and subjective examinations.
On the other hand, his achievements in extracurricular activities are worth mentioning. He used to discuss with me about various workshops he had attended and latest trends and technologies that were being used in the software industry, which he continues till date. He has also won two medals in badminton tournaments held on the university campus. For the fulfillment of degree every student is required to submit a project and his was an android application that found and marked public restrooms near the user’s location which I believe has been published, by one of his mentors from his internship, on the play store.
He strives to keep himself abreast of the recent research and advances in the field by reading various journals and attending various academic courses online. His ability to communicate and explain intricate concepts in an effortless way is impressive and makes him a good candidate for graduate studies.
With our discussions regarding his career plans, he wants to pursue MS in CS and as he mentioned, your program seems to be among his first preferences. And I would like to give my high recommendations to Mr. Avinash Patil for admission into your program.
