As can be seen, the number of car ownership by the Chinese increased dramatically for the given period. Initially, in 1987, there were only 250 cars per a thousand the Chinese, then this figure doubled in 1989. The ownership of car by the Chinese rose slightly between the years 1990 and 1993 from just over 500 vehicles to nearly 1000 units per capita.
Nevertheless, there was an abrupt increase in the number of cars owned by the Chinese by 1000 units every year starting from 2000 cars per a thousand the Chinese in 1995; this figure reached 3000 and 4000 vehicles per a thousand capita in 1997 and 1999, respectively.
