The diagrams illustrate the milestones of silkworm life, from birth to maturity and neccessary steps which are required to product silk cloth.
Overall, there are four main stages in cycle of silkworm from being silkworm larva to be called "moth". Regarding to silk cloth production, cocoon which plays the most major material role experienced five main steps in order to become silk cloth.
Silkworm begins their lives in mulberry leaves, which is not only where adult silkworm lays their eggs but also is food of baby silkworm. After ten days, eggs of silkworm emerge to silkworm larva. These baby silkworm eat mulberry leaves for four to six weeks. Then, they begin building their silk thread and take into it to become cocoon, this period lasts for three to eight days. From cocoon to growth silkworm named "moth" account for 16 days in total time of cycle silkworm. Following the this stage, these moth continue reproducting and the new generation is started.
What is more, to product silk cloth, first, cocoon are selected together and boiled by water in high tempurature. Then, in condition without wind, a boilded cocoon can be spun reach from 300 to 900 metres in leghth of thread. Next step, thread is twisted into each ring and dried with variety types of colour. Finally, they are weaved and become silk cloth.
