sugars and sweets, and carbonated drinks between 1978 and 2009.

This line graph compares the relative prices of three product groups and consumer-price index and how these changes from 1979 to 2009.
Overall, the prices for all product groups, as well as consumer-price index increase during the period of 30 years. However, only the rate of fresh fruits and vegetables is faster than that of consumer-price index (CPI).
In the 1979-2009 period, the steady increase in the price for consumer-price index was with in range of 60 and 210. Prices for sugars and sweets and carbonated drink show similar trends. Although their prices also rose, they were consistenly below consumer-price average after 1987. The final figures of sugars and sweets were 200 on the graph, higher than carbonated drink at 150.
While price for fresh fruits and vegetables approximately grew the same with consumer-price index between 1979 and 1987, throughout the remainder of the period, it significantly increase from 110 to 330. Therefore, price for fresh fruits and vegetables is higher than that of consumer-price index (CPI)
