The charts compare changes in the percentage of travel turnover on the internet and that of three different types of products, namely film/music, books and clothes in New Zealand over a period of 10 years.
It is clear that the percentage of film/music sales experienced the most dramatic change during the research period. Additionally, while travel and clothes sales proportion both decrease significantly, the figures for film/music and books all went up gradually from 2003 to 2013.
In 2003, the rate of travel sales was highest, at 36% of retail sectors, while the figure for clothes was a bit lower, at 24%. At the same time, books and film/music made up 19% and 21% of the total online sales respectively.
In 2013, the film/music percentage rose remarkably to 33% and became the highest figure in the pie charts, while the figures for travel and clothes sales significantly decreased to 29% and 16% respectively, there was a slight increase of 3% to 22% in the books sales in retail sectors.
