TPO 32

The article states that sailors in Russian submarines hear strange sounds that moved fast, and detection facilities could not find any movement under water. The article provides three hypothesis may cause that sound. In the listening, the professor states that the reasons are not satisfying and rejects all the assumption on by on.

First, the reading declares that the sound may be produced by Orca whales. Typically, whales use odd noises to make communication. On the contrary, the professor states that whales live near the surface of the water, while Russian submarine took place in a deep level of water. So it was impossible for sailors to hear whales voice.

Second, the text suggests that the sounds probably were caused by giant squid. It states that these animals have soft skin and intelligent mind that helped them to hide from submarine radars. On the other side of the issue, the professor mentions that giant squid could not be reasons of that bizarre voice because the sailors stated that the sound stopped suddenly, but giant squids could not be disappeared suddenly.

Third, the reading asserts that they may hear the sound from other military technologies like other submarines, and they could not be registered because of their undetectable facilities. In contrast, the professor says that it is not possible because submarines cannot move and change their direction quickly.
